You have just entered the Land of Verbs. You will need to complete 2 tasks before your ship can sail to its next land. You must show Captain Harrod each task in your journal before moving onto the next item.

In your journal, title the page with Land of Verbs Task 1, Part 1. Follow directions below.

Next, in your journal write sentences using 5 of the verbs from the table. Underline the verbs in your sentences.
4. Most verbs become past tense (it happened already) by adding -ed to the end of the word.
Example: The boy walks to school. Past tense: The boy walked to school the other day.
Sometimes, the past tense of a verb is a different word (no -ed ending). This is called an irregular past tense verb.
Example: Bob runs to the beach. Irregular past tense: Bob ran to the beach yesterday.
